Denver - Day 2

6th April 2008

Temp range was 0-13 DegC.

We tried to find somewhere for breakfast this morning, but nothing is open except starbucks and I didn’t want a dough nut for breakfast. So ended up at the taco bell. Nothing opens here until at least 10am if your luckily.

We walked to the state capital, feed some hungry cold squirrels. They are lots of homeless people around, unfortunately you can’t tell sometimes, if they are waiting for a bus or are homeless. We walked up to the Molly Brown house, but was closed (survivor of the Titanic).

We then drove about 10 minutes to the Cherry Creek Shopping District and picked the main shopping centre. We managed to find a “Whole Foods” shop as large as any Coles or Woolies, but all organic, with some gluten free stuff (best cookies ever!) They had a bakery, deli, pastries, fruit, veg, seafood, meat, even salads and meals already made up. I was in heaven, it was all about the same price as food here (which is expensive in America). So I stocked up for the road trip ahead after indulging first in a tub of blueberries, raspberries and blackberries- yummy!!!

Yummy!

We had a look around the shopping centre for about 3 hours (a lot of the same shops as Houston) then drove back to the hotel.

We then walked up the mall to a Dressbarn (as it had been closed previously) and bought 4 dresses.

Then on to Dinner at the Hard Rock, more ribs and brisket please. Couldn’t decide on what to drink (plus the menu had no prices!!!) so the waitress suggested the house red and Mikey had a fancy Orange Margarita. When it came time to pay the bill my wine was 7.50 and Mikey's cocktail 6.95!!!!!

Back to the hotel to pack for the road trip tomorrow.

Gallery of Denver can be seen here.
