CMC Rocks the Hunter

We headed down to the Hunter Valley for our annual trip to "CMC Rocks the Hunter".

The lineup wasn't as good this year for us, but overall it was a still great event.

As with last year we thought we would make a road trip out of it.

We headed down to Armidale on Wednesday then headed to the Hunter on Thursday.

Friday 15th March

The highlight today for us included 8 Ball Aitken, Amber Lawrence, Jack Ingram and Adam Brand. It was shame the weather was not kind - cold and wet.

What a difference a day make, today was hot and Sunny and a lot of people got sun burnt today. It is also the longest day of the event at around 12.5 hrs.

Highlights of the day for me include Travis Collins, Morgan Evans, McAlister Kemp and Chris Young.

The headliner today was Big & Rich which were good but they do not really play my style of country.

Sunday 17th March

The weather was still with us and to avoid even more sun burn we headed into the Songwriter Show in the winery, and boy were we glad we did. The Songwriter Show is basically a 2 hour set of 5 artists playing acoustic version of their songs and giving a brief back story of their songs. This was the highlight of the event for me.

David Lee Murphy, Stephen Barker LilesCorb Lund, Morgan Evans, Chris Young

Other highlights were David Lee Murphy,  Corb Lund, and The Band Perry. The headliner was Rascall Flatts which again we good but they are a little bit too "Boy Band-ish" for me when they perform.

Monday

We made a quick visit to my Aunt down in Gosford before the long drive to our accommodation in  Coffs Harbour, before heading back to Brisbane on Tuesday.

Nymboida - 2013

This year we headed down to Goolang Creek with Rob and Phil.

Friday -

We decided to have a look at Yamba on the way down to Nymboida. Yamba was great diversion and we enjoyed a nice counter meal at the local hotel.

By the time Mikey and I arrived Rob and Phil were already in the water enjoying themselves!

We headed up to the Couching Station for a sunset dinner over looking the creek, with the pub cat :o)

Saturday -

It was pouring with rain all day, but we where getting wet anyway so it didn't matter!

Unfortunately Phil had gotten a bit dehydrated the day before and didn't spend as much time on the water as he would have liked to, but never mind.

Got back together for dinner at the cabin and shared a drink or two.

Sunday -

We headed home and paid a short visit to Evans Head (another nice location)

Great weekend had by all!

Christmas - 2012

This year we had two Christmas.

One at Mum and Dad's with Russell and Sharyn's family.

The other at ours with Mikey's Mum.

Both were a really good time.
