Roller Disco Night!

Well, what a night!

Everyone went all out (when we say everyone, we mean us – not the kids!).

We had about an hour on the rink, with Nick being the roller dancer extraordinaire that would make the crew of Xanadu proud (or the Boost Advert Man J).

It was extremely busy (lots of kids that didn’t know how to skate) and we decided that it was best to call it a day while all of our limbs were in tacked, that we all need to make a living with.
So we decided to go down to the local Irish pub and have a drink – since we all made the effort to come out on a Friday night together. We had a few strange looks when we walked in with our adorned afro’s, but no one really bothered us.

It ended up being a great night out, catch up with everyone and drinking too much Kilkenny and West Coast Coolers (the coolers were the Mikey, Mark and Lesley).

A Sad Day

Sunday 13-May-2007 was a very sad day for Sieters clan.

Our favorite traveling companion suffered a cruel death by being stomped on by Nick during one of our Frisbee sessions.

My Basken and Robins freebie Frisbee has travelled this brown land with me for over 4 years, visiting such placed a Stanthorpe, Gold Coast, North Stradbroke Island, Bundaberg, and Brisbane. Over the years the Frisbee has given Mark, Nick, Maria and Dionne many hours of joy.

So it was upsetting after a 2 hour Frisbee session with Nick, Mark, Dionne and myself that Nick made that awful mistake and accidentally stood of the Frisbee while attempting a catch. The Frisbee suffered terminal injuries with a large crack down the spine and piece of plastic broken off.

After packing up our camp site I Privately said good by to the Frisbee and asked Nick and Mark to dispose of it thoughtfully.

Yesterday I receive this email from Sue

"We held a special service for your Frisbee at Bigriggen on the Sunday, to remember the fun times that you have all shared. I know you held the Frisbee close to your heart & will appreciate the pics that I have sent for you to remember it by."

Bigriggen

Bigriggen is a large camping grounds near Rathdowney. We all had a wonderful relaxing weekend. It was a little cool at night and early in the mornings, but other than that the weather was perfect.

The weekend was filled with reading, eating, drinking, fire gazing, talking, throwing the Frisbee and some music (hats off to Nick and Dionne for inventing the drum esky – very cool!).

We got up close and personal with kookaburras, possums and a paddymelon (we think it was). We even got to stroke one possum, who just loved BBQ Shapes.

Looking forward to playing frisbee golf at Stanthorpe!
